L'ORIENT WINE・Shirayuri Winery Co., LTD.
Founded in 1938 in Katsunuma, Yamanashi Prefecture, a sacred place for wine.
“L’orient”, which is used as the brand name of the wine, is a French word meaning “Orient”, and was named with the aim of creating a wine that can compete with the West.
In recent years, as the name suggests, we became the third company in Japan to win platinum at the world's largest wine competition [DWWA2021].
Additionally, in May 2023, our Koshu wine was served with Japanese food to the leaders of various countries at the G7 Hiroshima Summit.
Because winemaking is simple, the quality of the grapes used as raw materials is important. Our company handles everything from growing grapes, which are the raw materials, to making wine.
