- History of Haginotsuyu
Since our founding in the Kanen era (1748-51) in the middle of the Edo period, we have been producing sake in Katsuno, Takashima-cho, Omi for over 270 years. Katsuno, Takashima Town is a land of mountain shishimei with Lake Biwa and Mt. Hira in front and back, and it is said that the name "Haginotsuyu" was given by the feudal lord at the time of the company's founding, after the clover that grows in clusters on Katsuno Beach.

- Haginotsuyu's creed
Using high-quality rice from Omi and subterranean water (sweet, soft water) from the Hira Mountains, our motto is , and the more you drink it, the more you will appreciate its mellow quality. We aim to create sake that is delicious and has a refreshing aftertaste.

Sake making at Haginotsuyu
It is sometimes said that Haginotsuyu wants to brew sake by valuing local blessings such as the rich nature of the area, high-quality rice grown in Satoyama, and soft water. When you drink Haginotsuyu, you can imagine the calm and rich scenery of the area...that's what we want our alcohol to be.
