FUKANO SHUZO CO., LTD.
Our brewery was founded in 1823.
The first generation, Tokiji Fukano, was originally from Kurume, Fukuoka. Since it is Kurume, the feudal lord at that time was probably the Kuroda clan of Chikuzen, who was a merchant for the government. Tokitsugu visited Hitoyoshi and Kuma (then Sagara Domain) to purchase rice, and noticed the Hitoyoshi Basin's abundant rice, high-quality water, and cool winter climate. It is said that the family moved to this area because the production of shochu and sake was encouraged.
